My Brother - the Soldier...

My baby brother - he's not really a baby, he'll be 19 on the 20th of October - has joined the Army National Guard and is now in boot camp in Fort Knox, KY. When he first told the family that he wanted to join the Guard my family was very resistant to it. With the war, and the way the government is running itself these days, my family was very concerned for Mitchell's safety and well-being. We sat down with his recruiter and did alot of praying and talking and decided that maybe it wouldn't be as bad as we all picture it being... so, he enlisted!

Instead of having really sad goodbyes and being really bummed about Mitch leaving, I decided that we would have an "Army Party." We all got t-shirts and put different military names on them and we got hats and we had a BBQ the night before he left. It was so fun!

The next morning we had breakfast at my FAVORITE breakfast spot - Smitty's - and then took him to the airport in Idaho Falls. It was really sad. But while we were waiting for him to start boarding we had some really amazing family bonding. It was wonderful and the Spirit assured me that he would be okay. It was really incredible.

Anyways, I wanted to show all of you the fun photos from our party that we had in Mitchell's honor. Happy Birthday little bro! Love ya!
